Interpreter Dispatch
A guide to use our service in various situations
Welcome to OASIS - your partner in conquering life in Japan! Whether you're struggling with paperwork, need help communicating with officials, or just want to convert your driver's license, we've got you covered.
We accommodate to institutions essential for juggling daily life in Sendai. This includes Schools, Nursery Schools, Real Estate Agencies, Banks and more. If you're not sure whether you can request an interpreter to a specific place, please contact us or consult at the "Sendai Multicultural Center" what other options you might have.
Please be aware that the disptach and consultation desk are purely voluntary activities and our Volunteers are not professional interpreters.
Currently we have Volunteers speaking English, Korean, Chinese and Spanish. Please read our Guide on how the dispatch works:

Fill out the Application Form down below or visit our Consultation

Let us know the following:
1. The nature of the interpretation and other relevant information, like your preferred language
2. Date of Dispatch and whether you already have an appointment with the institution
3. Location of Dispatch
4. Full name, Nationality and Contact Details
Step 3
Wait for a call back or answer via Short message or Mail. In some cases we are not able to grant your wish depending on a couple of factors, one of which being our Volunteer's schedules.
When you get a call and your request is accepted, it means it is a fixed appointment. If you find yourself with unforeseen conflicting commitments, you need to cancel the dispatch with us as soon as possible.
Step 4
Meet with the Volunteer a couple of minutes earlier at the requested location. If you are having trouble finding the Volunteer or if you are running late, please contact the Volunteer directly or call the .
